YVES SAINT LAURENT = NAVY SLUT IS NEATER

50 years ago Yves Saint Laurent became a legend over night. Only 21 years old he was announced the successor of Christian Dior and therefore reign over the world's most famous fashion label. He gave the smoking to women, made the military look sociable and brought with his Mondrian inspired dresses painting to the runways – Yves Saint Laurent ruled the silhouette of a whole generation.

His love for art was reciprocated and still is. The German art magazine Monopol asked eleven artists for their personal view on Yves Saint Laurent.
