Germany is slow - we already knew that. And it's absolutely unfashionable - with some exceptions. We don't have proper fashion blogs and no cathy horyn, suzy menkes or whoever... just a bunch of more or less boring magazines (some exceptions here aswell) and... anyway. I was surprised to find an interview of Marios Schwab in the current issue of the Spiegel's (major German news magazine) supplement Kulturspiegel. Unfortunately it's - surprise - in German, but I simply had to post it, because I still am happy to have found something fashion related in a serious magazine (well we don't have a new york times style section, or international herald tribune or whatever - serious German newspapers don't deal with "superficial fashions"...). I guess I have to start a research on that topic soon!

look of the day

facehunter02

The last three days have been real summer. But they are over now and I don't know if summer will ever come back (at least this year). Guess we'll have to get used to our autumn wardrobe. Actually I really don't have a problem with that and especially when I see more and more femme's sporting the upcoming latex (like) trend... (and this one is still quite young and already that fashionable!?).

trust your local latex dealer...

...and never buy cheap stuff in cheap ebay shops (I know that there are great ones but I guess it's kind of hard for a "beginner" to distinguish the quality levels!). I'm totally dis- appointed, since I loved my latex leggins and today they simply slowly died (on my way to the library...). Only thing I could do ripp the rest of it off and wear them as a kind of legwarmes!

Guess doll's realm was totally right pointing out that my leggins are somhow bad quality! Well, let's save some money and buy the "real" stuff, guess I'm kind of ready for it...

Items in the pictures: Me, black leather ballet flats, black now broken latex pants, black flowery bubble jersey dress, bench jacket, black huge canvas bag with leather applications.

blog review: doll's realm

new blog in my blog list: doll's realm from NYC. at first i have to make clear that i don't only review this blog because mine was reviewed there yesterday!!! i review it because i stumbled upon it after checking my stats and liked it right away. as already pointed out before f&art gets quite a lot of visitors from the latex scene since i somehow got famous as a latex loving fashion addict, which isn't THAT wrong, actually ;-).

So f&art was mentioned on slinky skin (contains some stuff you need to be older than 18/21 to look at) a uk based side by latex fans who also produce high quality latex clothing (I'll probably change my cheap and bad quality pants and stockings into high quality ones soon...) and that's how Asudem Latex, the owner of doll's realm found f&art. Well, that's the internet ;-)

Asudem Latex focusses in doll's realm on doll like trends in fashion and make up (but not only...). It's a great blog for fashion lovers who like to follow certain phenomena like the doll theme, for example in this case. Other themes in this blog are, well latex, zentai (full body tights), pantyhose, etc. It definitely is a fetish blog so be aware if you're afraid of things like that, but don't miss the beauty and fascination in this kind of fetishism (fashion industry got quite caught lately!!!) and doens't there live a fetishist in all of us (how many shoes do you have?????)?

latex, again

hhm. latex really isn't a new material in fashion. In August 2003 Vogue Italia (innovative as usual) already featured thist exciting material. Wow. I found this Daria Werbowy by Steven Meisel spread via tfs here. There you'll also find the rest of the spread. Thanks to valley of dolls. I guess like ra is gonna like it!?

Coloured Latex ::: UK Vogue May 2007

Noone really expected me wearing latex at the bloggers meetup in berlin last friday although several people asked me about it and I had to confess that I really was thinking about wearing some (that sounds as if my closet is filled with all kinds of latex stuff - it isn't, btw!). Robert and Luisa (aka style scout pointed out that there is another latex editorial in this month's UK Vogue. Thank tfs it's no problem to see it (I actually went straight to the newsstand the next morning, because I was so curious...). The model is Lara Stone photographed by Mario Testino.
Please visit tfs for the whole spread.

Am I obsessed with latex?

As already mentioned before I love to look at my blog's statistics, since there's always somebody new and interessting coming to see my blog.
Today I discovered Vogue Australia's Forum and some ladies discussing poylvore.com and F&ART. freedom_poptop describes myself as "latex obsessed". Hhm. This comment made me think about obsession in general. What exactly is an obsession? a type of psychic disorder supposedly induced by the influence of an evil spirit!? Well... I'm really not sure WHAT I'm trying to say, maybe just that I will write more about something else in future - F&ART actually isn't a latex-blog! But have you seen those?

I love Vogue Australia's may cover, btw.

It feels good having fans ♥

and Like Ra is one of them. For some of you it might be strange to dwell on the "dark side" sometimes. For me it isn't. I'm not really into "this" kind of stuff, but I absolutely accept the fact that some people do some things I wouldn't (assumed it is legal and doesn't harm someone!). I'm curious and love to test new things so riding a bike in latex pants - for example - is something I had to check out ;-) or simply walk around in 4inch heels on cobblestone (beeing 5.11'' gave it some extra drama!). Fashion has always to do with trying out new things and that's what makes it special and never boring. I've never been to a sex shop but I went into one to by latex powder and spray - totally new experience and all for the sake of fashion!
Like Ra - by the way - has a very nice blog concerning topics like fashion, latex and lycra. Definitely a place you should visit more often if you're into including some "dark" stuff into your daily wardrobe!

Ugly Betty & Latex

It feels a tiny little bit like this wearing latex. But really not THAT uncomfortable.
Enjoy...

Gabriele Pauli in Latex

Woah! Can't believe it. This is definitely the first time ever that German politicians are ahead!!! The CSU member Gabriele Pauli posed for the German society magazine park avenue in Latex gloves!!! Well. let's see how people will talk about it when the new issue arrives on newsstand tomorrow ;-)

Blogging about latex...

...gives your blog popularity. My blogstatistics register many visitors from east european based latex fan forums like rubberdroid.spb.ru, latex.one.pl and eurolatex.ru. I simply don't understand polish or russian and I am not registered (and don't intend doing so), but very curious what they write about my latex photos and this blog...

I've written about Claudia Rose Lukas' spring/summer collection some time ago. She was very pleased about it (I ♥ blogstatistics!) and send me some photos of her upcoming aw 07 collection, which also contains... what? ... LATEX!!! I wonder how the readers of foto_decadent could possibly call the Irina Lazareanu editorial for Sleek magazine by Terry Richardson as uninnovative, while they use the most innovative material of the next season!?

how to make your own latex catsuit

Have you ever thought about making your own latex catsuit? I've found this instruction while googeling "latex catsuit". It's quite funny written... Please send me some picture of the procedure if you decide not to buy your latex leggins online (or are afraid to visit your local sex shop), but to make your own. Good look!

and the latex story is...

...neverending. Here are some more pictures of my latex photo session this morning: 1. brown wedge leather pumps | black latex stockings | black tulip dress by ZARA | vintage fur vest 2. same as 1 with cropped jacket by H&M 3. black latex stockings | dress by H&M | Cardigan by H&M). I still struggle with which shoes to wear. I'm trying to buy some block heeled black leather pumps like those for some time now (size problem!)...

the latex instruction

Hussein Chalayan
wasn't the only one who showed latex (?) leggins | stockings in his aw 2007 collection, as already mentioned before. You can see the whole collection here.
Today I pulled myself together and took some photos of me wearing my latex stockings (I prefer those to leggins, becaus since I'm really tall "normal" leggins are somehow short and more like 3/4 pants, which I don't like. Stockings also have the advantage that they have feet, which sometimes looks better than footless pants!), which I pretty much love but somehow never wear, because they're a little bit unpractical! As you can see in my pictures it is not easy to pull them on and later off again. Be sure you order a specifical powder which you put on your legs to pull the pants/stockings on easily (you shouldn't cream your legs and somehow - also if it's a little bit strange - it's better to pull them on without freshly shaved legs!!!). Don't be surprised that your pants aren't as shiny as seen in the pictures when you receive them. You'll need a special spray to spray on and rub into the pants to make them clean and shiny. Be sure to do that after pulling them on! Latex is very sensitive so take care of your pants/stockings by spraying them regulary otherwise the dry out and tend to break (!).
After pulling them off they leave a certain dry feeling on your skin, not sweaty as expected! They're best worn in spring or autumn time, because the heat up fast in summer, but aren't warming in winter! Don't ride a bike while wearing the pants (I did so!), it makes a strange noise and I always felt like "are the people staring at me????".

This lady seems to be very fashionable

I scrolled through stockholm streetsyle - which I do quite often actually - and noticed this woman more than once. I could only find these two pictures, but she's in all the fashionable swedish events and always looks fabulous! Maybe I should try and wear some glasses?

The Latex Story Part 02

Fashionologie and Susie Bubble have blogged about a pretty interessting ed starring Suvi Kuponen in the february issue of french Vogue earlier this day. Although I think her legs are a tiny little bit too skinny (please no further discussion in that topic!) I somehow feel attracted to that kind of cross-styling and not just because I'm in permanent search of styling inspiration for my pvc leggins (and stockings I've purchased recently!). Although I'd replace the shoes (any idea where they're from?) and nike socks (though I'm a huge nike fan) for ballet flats - as usual!

The Latex Story Part 01

On the phone:
Alice: I wonder what happend to the latex leggins you've told me about a couple of weeks ago!?
Maret: Hhm. Yeah. I know what you're talking about... (thinking: Yes, this little rubber thing in the little rubber bag lying somewhere in my closet).
Alice: I never see you wearing it.
Maret: I know! You need some kind of powder to get them on and a spray to make them shiny! I somehow forgot to order them with the pants.
Alice: So order them!
Maret: Hhm... There're some Sex shops here in Heidelberg I've already been to. The first on is run by two quite nice gay guys. Besides some porn dvd buying freaks turning their heads when I entered no spray and no powder. Although the two gays offered me to order it for me...
Alice: And the other shops?
Maret: Heidelberg is quite boring. Maybe they all order their stuff on the internet or just have a boring sex life or only watch porn dvds!? What happend to sex culture?
Alice: Don't know!
Maret: It's quite depressing!
Alice: Hhm...
-pause-
Maret: My boyfriend doesn't like the leggins (thinking: actually there're a lot of things I wear my boyfriend doesn't like)!
Alice: I've already thought so.

to be continued...

Lack, Leder und Latex

Susie Bubble posted some of her personal rubber experiences lately. Not only since then I'm fascinated by latex. Today I've ordered my very own black fetish leggin at an online sexshop called rubberfashion and will definitely share my experiences with you. I'm really excited!

It so happend that Italy's December Vogue published an "rubber editorial" shot by Steven Meisel starring Karen Olsen. To be viewed on foto_decadent. It shows the contrast of the materials I'll try to achive with my rubber pants perfectly well...
