Is it fashion or is it art? Whatever it is, it's hauntingly beautiful. Sex, fetish, fashion, emancipation, feminity. Golly, this man truly loved women! Phillips DePuy recently showed some unseen works of the deceased photo artist at London's Bloomsbury Square. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see them. But fortunately the internet documents a lot of his work. To be found here and here. I really had a tough time selecting some significant pictures - I could have posted all of them.

Ist es Mode oder ist es Kunst? Was immer es ist, es ist unglaublich schon. Sex, Fetisch, Mode, Emanzipation, Weiblichkeit. Menschenskinder, dieser Mann liebte die Frauen! Phillips DePuy stellte kürzlich eine Vielzahl bisher nicht gezeigter Arbeiten des verstorbenen Fotokünstlers aus. Leider konnte ich die Ausstellung nicht sehen, aber glücklicherweise gibt es das Internet mit zahlreichen Quellen, wie z.B. hier und hier. Es ist mir wirklich nicht leicht gefallen, eine aussagekräftige Auswahl an Bildern zu treffen, ich hätte schlichtweg alles posten können.

But Bourdin was not only interessted in photography. His artistic short films are definitely worth seeing. There's a nice collection of them on youtube. Somewhere inbetween David Lynch and The Ring.
