TOO THIN TOO FAT TOO BRAINLESS...

... too beautiful, too strange... Whatever comes to your mind when you think about models, those creatures not of this world, you’ll have to admit that they have a certain fascination drawn from their out-of-space-like-ness. People like Douglas Perrett make no secret out of their obsession but rather share it frankly with us sceptical admirers.
In their current issue Qvest Magazine dedicates a whole spread to the girls of fashion does it better. While most of the German fashion blogs still enhance the personal more or less beauty, Maud Lemoine and Pénelopé Heim look out for captivating looks out there. They both living in Straßbourg as well in Paris started their blog as a database with scans from fashion magazines and newspapers as inspiration for their work as illustrators. They soon realised „there is nothing more exciting than the discovery of a new girl“ and broadened their online notebook into something that has become one of the most essential sources for scouts, casting agents, stylists, photographers, make-up artists and soon-to-be models. "The more we got interested in models and the more we got into the aspects tied to that profession, the more we didn’t just want the blog to be a simple gathering of nice pictures. We started to transform it into something like an online daily newspaper concerning fashion, models, photographers and collections.”

Today Maud and Pénelopé work closely with a huge number of agencies on finding new faces. Without having any work experience in the fashion industry they rely purely on their instincts. Most faces they find while browsing fashion industry websites. We blog a girl’s picture only if we can’t take our eyes of her. Her face has got to be catchy. And they do seem to have a good eye: „We supported girls like Edita Vilkeviciute and Viktoriya Sasonkina long before they started to work for international shows like for example Jil Sander“. Their favourites are models that somehow stand out, because of their „eccentric features“ or „special appearance“, models that stand for a completely new and unique form of beauty – out-of-space-like-ness – we might say. So take a look at what the girls picked out for us – definitely specialists in finding creatures not of this world.
