NYC Fashion week part 02

Karen Walker
Personally I enjoyed Karen Walker's (New Zealand) collection the most. The shape of the trousers, the dresses, the hats, the glasses, masculine and feminine elements a touch of the 1940s combined with 1980s Nylon and Neon colours. Although I wouldn't wear a single piece I guess. MORE.

Alexander Wang
Since I love my legs (YES!) I love showing them and I love fashion which emphasises long slim legs and so does Alexander Wang's collection. Short (short!) skirts, short dresses, slim trousers. Mostly grey, black, some blue and white. Nothing really avantgarde, but wearable. Somehow 80s hip hop somehow chique. MORE.

Alice Roi
Alice Roi is very innocent this season, but not too innocent, something always seems to be hidden. Some girls look outgrown as if they aren't that childish anymore... Alice Roy is said to be inspired by "the spunky children's book heroine" Madeline. Result is a much darker version of that little cartoon schoolgirl.

Threeasfor
Threeasfour have some nice dresses in their fall 07 collection!

And please have a look at Toni Maticevkis's collection, especially at the shoes, boots (?)...

H&M shopping list

Although I'm totally broke (that's no news!) I'm planning a little shopping trip to my local H&M (well I drive there by bike in 10 minutes!). Unfortunately they haven't got a "TREND" dep. that's why I'll maybe wait until tuesday when I'm going to be in Stuttgart. I'm undec., as usual. Anyway... But I'm not undecided at all when it comes to my spring wardrobe. Dresses, dresses, dresses, dresses, maybe some skirts but definitely no trousers (well, maybe some (highwaisted) short...). Flats, Boots, Platforms, tights, jazzshoes. I get a lot of inspiration from these two swedish girls lately.

NYC Fashion week part 01

Well. Finally some pictures are up on the mercedes benz fashion week page. The very impatient fashion victims can search them on getty.com right after the show. Journalists are so fast these days!

BCBG Max Azria
First interessting show in my opinion was the one of the bcbg max azria collection. Very very much my kind of style. A bit grungy, romantic, girlish, feminine all at once. No pants just tights, dresses, coats, beanies. Lovely! The colours: Just perfect! I especially loved the shoes! Examine them more closely on style.com.

Yigal Azrouel

Second highlight of the day was the collection by israelian designer Yigal Azrouel. Layered jersey pieces and a few precision A-line dresses in heavy fabrics. Although the critics aren't absolutely convinced these items are stuff I (would) wear!

O.k. let's see what's up today!

Kristen Bell wears Miu Miu

I've posted a picture of Kristen Bell wearing a Beanie a couple of days ago. But two of my readers were more attracted to her coat. Throughout the friendly help of nicole I've spotted the coat in Miu Miu's fall 06 collection. It looks so different on Kristen, maybe better? The model (Danijela Dimitrovska) looks somehow outgrown although this is definitely the way it has to look like ( I believe Muiccia knows what she's doing). Anyway most of my clothes I'm looking outgrown in too, because I'm more the height of Danijela than Kristen.

Last post about my trip to Vienna. My dear friend Steffen was so kind to inform me, that he just uploaded all of his pictures of our Vienna trip on flickr. So feel free to have a look. Can you spot me?

How to wear...

...rubber boots (or wellies, that's how they're called in britain (only?)). Sam from style diary asked me how I'm planning to wear my new hunters. I wear them a lot and I even wear them when it's not raining. They are just too comfy. I feel "british", uncomplicated but somehow well dressed at once. Since I'm a skirt girl I wear them with skirts most of the time. I felt very inspired by this Japanese girl in the yellow coat. I found her picture on Street Fashion photo | Tokio via picky picky pics (which is a very nice blog by the way!).

Items in my pictures: 1. black Hunter wellies | mostly brown striped skirt (Zara) | brown fur vest (vintage) | blue slim woolen longsleve (Mango) | white scarf (H&M) - 2. black Hunter wellies | Tartan coloured skirt (H&M) | same blue longsleve as before | black short jacket (H&M) | same scarf as before.

Also very nice are the Hunter styling suggestions of uniqlo.com.
More pictures coming soon...
